Suffering? What?! Not these days, No one is in pain...come on!

This is one cute idea on a new twist to suffering!!

A man went to the barber shop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they talked about so many different subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of Hashem the barber said:"I dont believe that Hashem exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that Hashem doesn't exist. Tell me, if Hashem would be real would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If Hashem existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving father would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barber shop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber, "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "And I just worked on you!!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like the man outside."

Ah but Barbers do exist!!

"What happens is, people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "Thats the point! Hashem too does exist! What happens is people don't go to him and do not turn to him for help."

He is ready to "cut your beard" you just did not go in and ask him!! (Hashem is the best barber he trims away your pain its soo good!!)

As you turn to Hashem and have a real heart to heart talk with him you will feel some of the pain leaving you!! Bec. you are going to the One who can cure everything!!
How do I do this??
Take a walk by yourself or go into a room where you can be alone and just start with one min. "Hashem you know i had a hard day today... my teacher yelled at me, telling me i am irresponsible bec. I did not have my work with me"....or I upset my mother this morning and now I am in such a bad mood!! (def. not you maybe your friend you could tell this too... you never have a hard day!! just kidding) so now wait for Hashem to answer you...
maybe someone will call you at night and say please can you babysit for me I need someone like you who is very responsible... now you see hashem made her say these words to make you feel better, just bec. you did not have your work does not mean that you are forever labled irresponsible...
Or when you come home you help your mother with a smile and she totally forgets about the morning... she says thank you soo much for your help...now you feel soo much better.(by the way when you leave from beg. of the day till end, people forget how they were in a bad mood over a small tiny thing!)
so these are the messages that we have to look out for so that when we come to him we will see Hashem really being there for us!!
this def. does not do justice to real suffering its just a cute idea!!

The message is prob. pretty clear, Hashem wants us to talk to him and ask him to help us so that he could be there for us in our pain! well someone might say, Hashem is the one who gives me the pain why should I want turn to him??? Don't we all at times feel like, Hashem why are you doing this to me??? Where are you when I need you the most? However we have to look for him and notice all the little things that he does. When you actually sit down and have a conversation with Hashem the way you talk to a friend you will feel so much lighter! how? bec. HASHEM HAS A STORAGE BOX WHERE HE TAKES AWAY PAIN FROM PEOPLE AFTER YOU SHARE IT WITH HIM HE TAKES IT AND STORES IT AWAY AND YOU DONT FEEL THE PAIN HALF AS STRONG AS BEFORE!!
If you open up your heart and your mind to hear the messages that hashem is sending you, you can hear them for real.
Live your life with your eyes wide open not just to look, but to look and see
what messages has Hashem sent to me!!

  1. I have to say that i did try this out.someone told me about telling hashem abt. my pain so i tried it. It was a powerful moment! basically i was terribly embarrased in front of may ppl. the pain was so strong i did not know how i cld go on WITHOUT BALLING!! i said to myself i cant share this with a friend they will never understand... who could understand my pain?? only Hashem, so i went into my room and i looked up at the sky and said Hashem only you know how terrbile i feel right now.. how hurt i was i went into detail of how i felt... it was soo painful i was crying as i was telling hashem what happened.
with in 2 days of this incident i just forgot abt. it!! i guess hashem took my pain cuz i did not feel the pain anymore!! IT WAS SOO COOL SO I STARTED DOING IT MORE AND MORE AND I SLOWLY STARTED FEELING LIKE THNGS WERE BEING EMPTIED OUT BY SOMEONE WHO CAN TAKE IT FOR ME!!
THIS IS A PROCESS OF LEARNING DEF. WORTH WHILE... AND SLOWLY YOU CAN FEEL HASHEM LISTENING TO YOU AND TAKING IT FROM YOU!!

  2. wow thanks!
question: how do you get away from blaming Hashem for the hard situations? If you acknowledge everything's from Hashem and attribute every comment, insult, or compliment that comes your way as a shaliach from Hashem, it's easy to not only attribute ti to Hashembut to then blame him for giving you the hardships? there's no one else to blame since it's all from Him; so then what can you do?

  3. Tamar, it's not a matter of stoping to blame Hashem for the hard situations, it's a matter of realizing that as HARD or even IMPOSSIBLE as it feels to internalize this, and to understand it, Hashem is all good, and everything He does is good. So it SEEMS bad, but as hard as life can be, it's for our good!!

Feel free to email me for more of an explanation...

  4. Chaya Sara, that is such a good mashal! I love it!

Yes, it feels soo good to talk to Hashem and let Him know how you are feeling. No one can understand you better that the One who created you!

When things are hard (of course, nobody has it hard and everyone's life is easy street!!), it is the best thing in the world to know you have a loving Father who understands and cares about you. All you have to do is open your heart and speak to Him and you will feel so much better!!

And Tamar, I second DF on her comment, yes, everything comes from Hashem - the happy times and the difficult times, (the compliments and the insults). We just have to learn that even things that seem to be bad really are not, even if we do not understand how it IS good just yet. Everything we go through is perfectly designed for us, for our neshama's growth. Living with this realization will make you so much happier, no matter what you are going through in life!

  7. wow!!! your soo cool that you care so much abt this girl who is sick! yes it is really so hard to understand! however you did hear from her that now she is searching for Hashem and she wants to know stuff...we have no idea what hashem wants... he may want her to turn to him and us to do zechusim for her so that we cld see miracles in our own lives!!
she def. is searching now more than ever!!!!
she became so much greater with this crazy cancer... she said matbe i shld cover my body so that hashem ckld bless it... she started wearing skirts bec. of that!! then she only wanted kosher food!! who knows how great we could become from her chizzuk and how great she can become from all the great things she undertook as a zechus!!
one thing is for sure when mashiach comes we will understand why we had sooooooo many many many challenges!!
challenges are given to us by hashem and all we have to do is decide how we want to respond to them.... either to grow closer or run away!!
i prefer get closer bec it just makes me happier and happier... bec as you know I MADE HASHEM MY BEST FRIEND!!! HE ALWAYS IS THERE FOR ME AND WE TALK ALOT!! HE LOVES HELPING ME NON STOP AND HE DOES THE SAME FOR ALL OF US!!
SO LOOK AND YOU WILL SEEE!!!!!!!

  8. This is a great post! Wow!

This is not the only reason why there is suffering and pain in this world, sometimes, many times, it is for us to grow and reach levels we would not have come to without those experiences and tests!
