Please Vote

There's a poll on the right - so go ahead and vote...and soon I'll try to write a post or two on the topic so hopefully soon we will all gain appreciation and love for this special mitzvah!!

One more thing: Can you please leave a comment letting me know which things are hard for you in this area and what the reasons are that tznius may have a negative connotation for you. I would like to address this important mitzvah and it would help me if you can point out why it's so hard for you and what affects your thoughts and feelings towards tznius.
And if you think of tznius in a positive way, please let me know why. It would be great to hear what things you heard that are inspiring in this area and keep you going!
Thanks!!

  1. ohh tznius, now here's a controversial issue. my main issues are with tznius behaviour and overall demeanor. some people are born naturally more subdued and modest and others have more of a need to express themselves, whether it be due to neediness or nature. are we supposed to be tempering our personalities? and theres the concept of tznua babayit also so we can't say that even when its just all girls we can let our guard down... its a 24/7 middah.

  4. proud to be a jewish princessOctober 19, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Anonymous 9:24- you said "why do i have to cover my body its soo annoying i feel if you got a nice body then why not show it off!"- I think you are 100% right and that's exactly why you should want to cover it up.you are a jewish girl, You have a nice body- it's for you (and your husband) and that's it. showing it off to the rest of the world on the streets is dong nothing except diminishing your self worth. You are a princess and should dress in a manner sufficiently dignified for a Princess.

I can't expainn it well, chaya sarah, is there a way for u to contact me. I wanna explain my thoughts and the source (teacher) who they're from without revealing too much bout myself here. or me to contact u? clicking on u to email opens outlook and that won't work.

  10. Chaya Sara always talks about the rewards for being tznius and how much bracha it brings to us. Chaya Sara can you please share it with all of us, or tell us the name of the book you always talk about and how it gives such a positive, warm feeling on tznius!
    Thank you!

  11. The hardest part I guess is peer pressure, everyone else wears skirts that go up when they sit down, or tighter clothes and I feel like a neb without it - yes you're doing it for Hashem and the girls who care aren't for you blah blah but it matters to me

  12. yea its definitly hard when u look in the mirror n like omg u look soooo good but its not tznius so instead of that hot dress u have to buy a really nebby outfit. no one likes looking like a neb! we wana look good ! but it seems that u either look good or u dress tznius
